SunSpeed was the first, in 1997, to install the world's best small block
"hot rod" engine, the Honda B18C Type R into the Lotus Elise.
Changing the cute competent country lane Elise into a modern AC 289 Cobra with
200 hp @ 9,400 rpm.
into
a 1700 pound sports car.
Today, SunSpeed has designed a Kit for "DIY" (Do It Yourself) installation for the 2.0 liter Honda K20A / DC5. More power, more torque, 6-speed gear box, limited slip, etc. The result is a modern Cobra 427 with much better handling.
220+ hp, 6-speed gear box, limited slip differential and, a lot of potential for higher performance. Special engine versions @ 300+ hp
Our new Kit has been designed for Do It Yourself (DIY) easy installation. No fabrication or welding on the car is needed. All of our components are precision fabricated to aircraft standards, cad plated or, Type 3 anodized for durability.
The SunSpeed "Plug 'n Run" wiring loom / harness connects directly to the Honda engine harness, computer and, the Lotus chassis harness. The SunSpeed link harness is produced by aerospace technicians to MIL Spec. Standard, using Teflon coated wires. An On Board Diagnostics / DLC connector (OBD II) is included.
The Kit comes complete with everything needed for the engine installation that is not available from Honda or Lotus. Please see the contents pages for description.
